Q. Talk about it! I feel different when / because:

I just don't seem to fit in. At work I don't talk about the same things as others and I'm not really interested in talking about what most people do. I go along with the conversation but I feel like all the conversations are more or less the same...

Q. Talk about the pros and cons of being 'different'. In what ways does it help you and in what ways does it work against you?

I do enjoy being in my apt. I like reading and usually can't wait to get home to continue my books. It's nice to have interests that are different from others, I just don't have many people around me that have those interests. It works against me because I don't have that group to be with and I feel like I'm always forcing myself to be interested in things that I'm not into.

Q. How can you build on your difference to emphasize your 'uniqueness' in what you do and who you are? Keep in mind how you're feeling when you're doing this exercise and look up those feelings too.

I guess I could make more of an effort to get out there and find like minded people. The thought of it excites me, I just don't know how to go about it...

Q. How could your being 'different' contribute to who you want to become in the future? Make a nice long list and read it often because you have many qualities, talents, abilities that make you who you are. You are a blossom waiting to flower into the real you!

I have a wide variety of interests, none of which seem to lead to anything concrete that would identify what I'm about...

Q. How can you find others who also acknowledge their difference? How could this help to empower you? Don't forget the forum to see how others feel different cause in one way or another, we all are!

This part I don't know. I think that most people just hang out with family members or people they know from school or work..

Q. How does feeling this way impact/affect your life

It just makes me feel like I don't belong, that I'm alone here in this world and no one really understands me and I'm not able to understand someone else that I can share with...
