 I just read a comment in 'Things that work' about meditation. I have to add to this and say that this has been a great help for me in my life. I spend 20 minutes in the morning sitting in a comfortable chair with my feet up and a lit candle. I allow myself 5 minutes to take notes about the thoughts that come up in my mind related to work or what I have to do that day (sometimes use a note pad to keep track) and then I just inhale and focus on the sounds that I hear, the birds or traffic, my breathing, the temperature or whatever else is part of the moment. I keep my eyes closed or open and I just try to me present. When thoughts do come up I just look at them and return my focus to the present. I like starting my day like this because it makes me more relaxed. For me this is a blessing and it's important to stop thinking and be in the moment because really, that's all there is.

I've been doing it for years. Quality time with myself. It doesn't have to be in the yoga position with your back straight and legs crossed at impossible angles.. Sit with yourself, be calm, stare at the wall or at a candle and chill, figure things out, think of nothing, it changed my life!
